Today we are going to reveal these simple but legitimate tips to get paid apps for free on Android. These simple tips will help you download premium apps and games on your Android phone and that too free of cost!
Before we begin, let me take a second to appreciate you, still caring for developers and want to get your hands on premium apps, and that too without breaking any laws. Respect :). Developers work very hard to develop apps and downloading those apps free from piracy sites, is not ethical nor legal.
1. Amazon Underground
This one is my favorite. In 2015 Amazon launched “Amazon Underground” platform where any Amazon customer can download various premium/paid apps for free.
It is nothing but an update of the old version of Amazon’s “Free App of the Day” service. The apps and games feature on Underground are highly popular and expensive ones.
All US residents are eligible for this offer by default. Don’t worry if you are not a US resident. We got you covered, just skip to the next section where we have explained how to get those Amazon Underground apps on your Android if you are not from the United States.
For US Users:
It’s pretty simple. Just download “Amazon Underground” >> install it >> login using your Amazon.com credential, and you are good to go! You can find the “Actual Free Apps” section on the homepage itself. You can also search apps using the search option provided at the top.
Note: While searching any game or app in Amazon underground, make sure you search in the “underground” category.
For Non-US Users:
All international users can also do the same with a simple tweak. Many bloggers suggest that changing your country/region will give you access to all Underground apps. But that’s not the case.
Step 1: Before writing this content, we had decided to check it ourselves. It seems, Amazon Underground’s recent updates have been smart enough and could find out the location of the user using the information provided by a service provider or even the information based on your WiFi.
a. Go to Settings on your phone and switch to the “General” tab, if needed
b. Tap on the “Security” option
c. Tick the checkbox next to the “Unknown Sources” option
d. Confirm the warning message by tapping on “OK”
Step 2: Once you install the underground apk. You can open the app, but as you reside in India (or any country except the US), it will take you to the Amazon.in (local version of your country). To change the country go to Home >> Settings >> Change Country >> United States (refer screenshot).
Now you will be redirected to Amazon Underground US version. But the problem is when you try to download any paid app from the platform it will keep getting refreshed to the underground homepage, and you will end up getting frustrated.
Step 3: Here comes the trick. Make sure you follow all the instructions carefully. Go to this link (My account section of Amazon) on your web browser or mobile browser (NOT on Android app).
Step 4: Now you will be directed to “Manage Your Content and Devices” >> Settings >> Country Settings >> Add a valid US address and that’s it you are done!
Step 5: Now the next question comes to your mind is, how to get a valid US address if you are not a US resident. It’s quite simple though. Just go to google and search for fake US address, and you will find many sites providing the same. No need to say that all these addresses are not real ones and you are not breaking any law here. So chill 🙂
Note: You need to keep Amazon Underground App installed on your device to make premium apps work
Once you update the address, you are good to go. Go ahead, download and enjoy all your favorite paid apps and games for free.
2. App of The Day – 100% Free
Every day, the team of the “App of the Day” chooses one of the best-paid apps from Google Play Store. They negotiate with the developer(s) to turn the app free for 24 hours. As they claim..
Free apps every day! Many of our apps feature bonus offers reserved exclusively for App of the Day users!
There are loads of various versions of this app, so you need to get the one appropriate to your location (otherwise the Play Store will tell you it is incompatible with your devices). But once you’ve got it installed you can add it to your daily checklist for scoring paid apps for free. Make sure you have enabled push notifications for the same, so you never miss an app.
3. PlayStoreSales (web version)
This one is a smarter one. PlayStoreSales updates you with the latest discounts and sales on Apps (Google Play Store). If you are genuinely interested in buying a few apps and won’t mind paying a few bucks for them, then PlayStoreSale is a good option.
Moreover, it features a section where it lists all the premium apps that are now have gone free. You can subscribe to the site to get updates on a daily basis so that you won’t miss a discount on your favorite app. We are not saying it is as good as Amazon underground, but it is definitely worth a shot.
The sales can slash down as much as 85% of the actual price.
Update: Google Play Beta has started experimenting the same where developers can offer sales to its users.
4. AppSales – Sales & Free Apps
Appsales is very similar to the PlayStoreSales except it has android app for it. The app is well designed and does what it says. It lists out a several premium apps, games, and wallpaper at slashed prices. Besides, they do post “Free Apps” now and then. By using various filters provided by the developers you can narrow down your search according to your preferences.
You can put up your favorite app or game on “watch list” so as soon as the price of that particular goes down, you get a notification. Ain’t that cool!
What we didn’t like about AppSales is those annoying adds. Of course, it is one of the sources of income for developers. I have used it for weeks, and I can assure you that you will find some lucrative deals on your favorite apps and games. If you can have tolerance for ads, then it is worth a shot. Give it a try!
5. GetJar (web version)
GetJar is a popular alternative for downloading paid Android apps and games at free of cost. Not only premium/paid apps but also you will get free credit to renew your applications or monthly subscription. GetJar is now available for all Android versions.
Update: GetJar app has been recently removed from Play store. You can download it here: GetJar apk.
Please note that even though you may have to pay $1 as an in-app purchase, yet, all the given apps by GetJar is free.
6. Google Opinion Rewards
We are mentioning at the last as it doesn’t come handy as you must fill up the surveys to get it done. Moreover, it is not available worldwide and has been available to limited countries.
Google wants to know your opinion on various things, and in return, it offers free credits which can be used for future purchases on Google play store. You’re limited to one survey a week (which makes it less popular).
Install the Google Opinion Rewards app (exclusively available in the USA, Canada, Australia or the UK for this to work) however you must complete some short surveys. That is, at least, how it operates in theory.
After all, each of the techniques above can be used to get paid/premium apps and games for free. However, rather than using them separately, you should employ all these tips simultaneously for the best chance of getting all your favorite apps and games you want for as little as possible, rather free.
